Sharon and Chris Smitka, co-founders of the Kid’s Closet Connection franchise, continue to run their Overland Park event - - the sale that started it all!
What began as a small sale in 2004, has grown to include around 600 families selling items in 30,000 square-feet of space at the Overland Park Convention Center.
Chris and Sharon Smitka know it’s serious business when you’re trying to raise a family on a tight budget. Both bring strengths that complement Kid’s Closet Connection: Sharon has an MBA with extensive retail and customer service experience, while Chris has professional training as a mechanical engineer.
This dynamic duo started their own consignment sales events to be able to bring the community together and help families sell their gently-used children’s items to people who want to buy them at a fraction of retail costs.
